The ABC’s of Karma

Karma is not just the universe exacting retribution for misdeeds. In Sanskrit it means “action,” “work,” or “deed,” and it is more about the spiritual cycle of cause and effect. Good intentions and deeds result good karma, while the bad actions and misdeeds lead to bad karma. It is not always a negative. concept but a consequences of ones choices.

All living beings go through cycles of birth and rebirth, which continue indefinitely. With the details depending on the religion, The wheel of life or “karmic cycle” can influence both the future of your present life, but also ones you have yet to live. When the soul’s present life ends and the karmic impulses have not been fulfilled, they enter into the next incarnation.Karma you are experiencing today may not be from your actions in this lifetime but on what happened in the lives you”ve had in the past.

Karma can show up in different ways for different people and in different lifetimes. We can’t always know or predict how and when it will appear.

Karma actually operates in a system governed by the 12 laws.

1. The Law of Cause and Effect

This is known as the universal law of karma. This means that whatever thoughts or energy you put out, you will get back—good or bad. It’s the basic rule of karma.

2. The Law of Creation

This is about creating. In other words you don’t just wait for good things to happen, you have to actively go out there and make them happen. If you use your talents, gifts, and abilities to bless the world, then you too will be blessed. It’s about figuring out what you want your life to look like. We all have the power within us to create our ideal reality.

3. The Law of Humility

In order to change something you must first accept what currently exists. You have to own your own story accepting what is out of your control and acknowledging what can be done in response. It is also about accepting how your actions haven’t always served you and forgiving yourself so you can move forward.

4. The Law of Growth

We are meant to grow, change, and evolve. This is the ultimate personal development. Growth never ends.

5. The Law of Responsibility

We are responsible for everything that happens in our lives including how we choose to live our lives. We are responsible for how we show up, how we allow others to treat us, and how we treat other people. We may not have control over everything that happens to us, but we do have control over how we respond.

6. The Law of Connection

We are all connected, yet we connect very little to our selves, our souls, and to other people. A simple law that is over looked.

7. The Law of Force

We are constantly multitasking; but we really need to focus one task at a time. This law states that you cannot put your energy toward two things simultaneously. Be present.

8. The Law of Giving and Hospitality

Selflessness, giving to others, and practicing what you preach. You can have good intentions, but do you follow this up with action? Make others feel cherished and do not expect anything in return. Align your intentions with your actions.

9. The Law of Here and Now

This is about being present. This world is full of distraction, chaos, and anxiety. We are constantly thinking about the past and what we did wrong, playing that same old record over and over. Not only is it exhausting, but deprives us from living in the moment.

10. The Law of Change

Do you findyourself experiencing the same situation over and over again? This is a sign from the universe gently telling you to change. The same pattern leads to the same old same old, while different actions and an openness lead to a better version of yourself. You can stop the vicious cycle.

11. The Law of Patience and Reward

Hard work pays off and live in accordance. To achieve great things requires time and persistence. No real success comes quickly or easily. Celebrate yourself and savor every little milestone on your journey. It’s about showing up, doing the work, and not giving up.

12. The Law of Significance and Inspiration

We all have value to offer in this world. Every soul incarnates with abilities perfected over lifetimes. We are meant to serve humanity and ourselves, What is your unique contribution to humanity?

We are all working towards enlightenment, or “Nirvana” and the way to get there is by paying ones debts. You get there through good karmic deeds and spiritual practices. When you do your desires and sufferings turns into peace and happiness.
